Relaxed and revived.

The Prodigy was funky.

First we had dinner at an Irish bar round the corner. I put on some pre-show music to get us going, starting with Justice's "Waters of Nazareth". When the synth kicked in, the barmaid turned it down and said, "Oh, sorry, it sounds like it's broken". Heheh. She reluctantly turned it up when I told her it was "dance" music and meant to sound like that. And then I had to put up with her glaring at me when the Prodigy tracks kicked in heheh.

Then, when we finally get into the venue, out of the rain, the warm up DJ, Busy P, played "Waters of Nazareth" too. In fact, I pretty much enjoyed the whole set - even though I only knew a couple of tracks.

The Prodigy didn't disappoint, but the elbow in the nose drawing blood during Run With The Wolves did put a bit of a damper on me for a while.

All in all though, a great show, a great week ending with a mini ETS meet after the show (seven of us). And a long train ride, Bed was so welcomed after the long day out.

Heading East

Time to start working on life while on vacation. Two jobs lined up, both looking like they were ready to make an offer...

I get a call from one, "I just thought, are you a citizen are still Green Card? Only, we do a lot of government work and you will have to be a citizen before we can hire you. Get back to me when you're a citizen because we definitely have work for you." - crapola.

Then I'm on IM with the other prospective employer and their "done deal" for financing has just got yanked.

So my mood is thrown from confident and optimistic to stressed out yet still optimistic in the space of an hour.

I know I have great skills - but I also know that there's not a lot of telecommute / local work out there right now. I took a few Myers-Briggs tests, and they suggest I'm type ENFP. So I dug deep and found some very astute observations about the personality type. And these insights are really helping me deal with some of the frustrations in life that I thought were just there - rather than actually being internal parts of my personality.

So, part of my mental clean up is to spend a little time each week thinking about me (something I'm not very good at) and focusing on goals I need to set and achieve to improve my life in general.

Let's see how this goes ;-)
